Jimmy by Warren

Warren's native iPhone app (Jimmy by Warren) keeps your time tracking, projects, reports, and invoices always within reach. It's a companion to Warren for Mac — data syncs between devices so what you log on your phone shows up on the Mac the moment you reconnect.

ℹ️
Jimmy by Warren is a companion app. Projects, clients, and team members are managed on the Mac. The iPhone app focuses on the things you need while away from your desk: logging time, checking project activity, reading reports, and reviewing invoices.

Overview

The app has four tabs along the bottom of the screen:

Timer — start/stop time tracking
📁 Projects — browse active work
📊 Reports — time summaries
🧾 Invoices — view billing status

Timer

The Timer tab is the default view when you open the app. Use it to start a live timer or add a manual time entry for work you've already done.

Starting a timer

1

Select a project

Tap the Project dropdown and choose from your active projects. Projects are synced from Warren for Mac.

2

Choose a task type

Pick from the built-in task types (Design, Development, Procurement, etc.) to categorise the work. Defaults to the last type you used.

3

Add a note (optional)

Tap Add a note… to describe what you're working on. The note appears on the time entry when it syncs to Mac.

4

Tap Start

The timer counts up. Tap Stop when you're done — the entry is saved immediately and will sync to your Mac on next connection.

Weekly goal

The top of the Timer screen shows a progress ring and your total hours for the current week against your goal (set in Warren for Mac under your team member profile). The day-of-week bar (M T W T F S S) highlights today and shows which days have logged entries.

Manual entry

Tap + Add manual entry below the timer to log hours you've already worked. Pick the project, task type, date, start time, and end time. Manual entries sync to Mac the same way as timer-based entries.

💡
The timer continues running if you close the app or lock your phone. A notification appears after one hour as a reminder that the timer is active.

Projects

The Projects tab shows all active projects from your Warren workspace. At the top of the screen, three summary stats show your week at a glance:

StatWhat it shows
This WeekNumber of projects with active time entries this week
RecentTotal number of recent projects
This MonthTotal hours logged across all projects this month

Filtering projects

Use the filter pills below the stats to narrow the list:

All — every active project
This Week — projects with entries this week
This Month — projects with entries this month
Unused — projects with no recent activity

Each row shows the project name, color swatch, entry count for the week, and total hours this month. Tap a project to view its detail and log time directly from there.

Reports

The Reports tab shows your personal time summary. Switch between Week, Month, and Quarter using the segmented control in the top-right corner.

Summary metrics

MetricWhat it shows
TotalAll hours logged in the period
BillableHours logged to billable projects, plus the billable percentage
Daily AvgAverage hours per worked day in the period

Daily breakdown

The chart below the summary shows a bar for each day of the week. A horizontal line marks your daily goal. Today is highlighted in the accent color. Tap any bar to see the individual entries for that day.

💡
Your daily goal is set in Warren for Mac under Team → [your profile] → Capacity. It appears in both the Timer weekly progress ring and the Reports daily breakdown chart.

Invoices

The Invoices tab shows a read-only view of your studio's invoice data, synced from Warren for Mac.

FieldWhat it shows
OutstandingTotal dollar value of all unpaid invoices
UnpaidNumber of invoices awaiting payment
OverdueNumber of invoices past their due date
Paid · 30DAmount collected in the last 30 days
ℹ️
Invoices are created and managed in Warren for Mac. The iPhone app displays the current state but does not support creating, editing, or sending invoices. Open Warren on your Mac to manage billing.

Syncing with Mac

Jimmy by Warren syncs with Warren for Mac over your local WiFi network or VPN using the same WiFi/VPN Sync mechanism as Mac-to-Mac sync. Both devices must be on the same network and WiFi Sync must be enabled on the Mac.

1

Enable sync on Mac

On your Mac, go to Settings → Sync → Enable WiFi Sync. The Mac starts listening for connections on your local network.

2

Connect on iPhone

On your iPhone, open Warren and tap the sync icon (↻) in the top-right of the Timer tab. Warren scans your local network for the Mac and connects automatically.

3

Sync runs automatically

After the initial connection, Warren syncs on launch and after each time entry is saved — as long as both devices are on the same network. Time entries logged offline are queued and sync the next time a connection is available.

⚠️
If you're away from the office and not connected to the same network as your Mac, time entries are stored locally on your iPhone and will sync when you reconnect. No data is lost — entries are queued until the next successful connection.
