Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 15, 2026
At Warren, we believe your work data should be private, secure, and under your control. This policy explains how we handle your data in the Warren application and on our website.
1. Data Ownership & Privacy by Design
Warren is designed as a "local-first" application. Most of your data—including projects, tasks, time logs, and team information—is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your private workspace data unless you explicitly choose to sync it via a self-hosted WiFi/VPN Sync server or use our optional cloud features.
2. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and name to provide updates and manage your access.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated telemetry (such as which features are used most frequently) to improve the application. This data does not include any of your project names, client details, or time log descriptions.
- Self-Hosted Data: If you use WiFi/VPN Sync or the Warren Slack Bot, data is transmitted to and from your own self-hosted server. Warren does not host or have access to this data.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Warren application.
- Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages.
- Respond to your comments and questions via our support channels.
- Monitor and analyze trends to improve the user experience.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We only share data when required by law or to provide services (e.g., sending emails via a service provider like Postmark or Mailchimp).
5. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. Since much of your data is stored locally, its security also depends on the security of your device and any self-hosted infrastructure you use.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information at any time. For locally stored data, you can do this directly within the application. For data we hold, please contact us.
7. Contact Us
